Silverdale Scout Group was formed in 1929 and is celebrating its 90th Birthday in 2019.
having been started in 1929 by the local Vicar Father Howlett. The Group has produced a badge and woggle to commemorate the event and held a birthday camp (see the gallery for some photos) we also camped in the current Vicars lawn in September to recreate the first camps of the group. Our registration certificate can be seen here (Registration Form)
The Group celebrated its 75th Birthday with a camp at Kibblestone in May 2004 and also has had a badge specially designed.
As part of the Group’s 50th Anniversary in 1979 a window in the Church was dedicated to the Group and one was dedicated to a former GSL of the Group Cyril Harvey, who had held the position for 40 years.
